I don't know if it's the same product but several years ago I bought a small jar of something that sounds similar. It came in various colors for mortar. It worked okay but seemed to thicken up and eventually harden in the jar after only a couple years. If it's still available I'd suggest buying a fresh jar when needed and checking the contents for pliability (if that's the correct term) before purchasing.

I use liquid white shoe polish on my sneakers (which I wear all year 'round) and yes, they still make it.

The Roberts Mortar is a bit pricey. It works however.
When this general idea of coloring mortar first arose, people used cheap liquid white shoe polish. Of course that was back when pathetic overweight middle aged guys like me wore white shoes in the summer. I assume they still make liquid white shoe polish?

NS82,
I have used featherweight spackling compound rubbed in mortor joints on brick facing with reasonable success. It may be a slightly slower process than thinned white paint, but may give more control to the whole process.

jrbarney, thanks for the info.! I appreciate it.
How well does this Roberts Mortar work, compared to using acrylic paint mixed with water or alcohol? Is it easier/better???

NS82,
I bought a bottle of Roberts Brick Mortar Formula at
The Little Choo Choo Shop
in Spencer, NC, which, in spite of the name, is a decent well stocked hobby shop. The label on the bottle give the manufacturer's address as:
Roberts Products Co.
P.O. Box 27057
Milwaukee, WI 53227
Hope this helps.

Does anyone know anything about a product called Roberts Mortar, where you wipe it onto a structure, then wipe it off, but it stays in the cracks but not on the brick faces? Evidentally you can wipe it off immediately, a day later, a week later, etc., and it'll still wipe off from the brick face but not out of the mortar lines. One ounce covers five feet or something like that.
If anyone knows where this product can be ordered from I'd appreciate some info. Thanks!
