what do you guys think of the quality? i have the original prodigy and the paint on the throttle has already worn off! also, there is now a short in the cord somewhere. MRC seems to use the cheapest materials on this base and throttle. I do like the Power station 8 (i recommend getting this if you want to run many trains at once) , its made of metal and has yet to fail me. The Prodigy regular 3 amp power supply is nice too, i just wi***hey made the console and throttles with better materials. Apparently, the new Advanced version is not compatible with the original...so far as i know.

I got mine right after Christmas from Tony's Trains for about $180. I think it's about $10 more now. I'd say anything under $190 is a pretty good deal. The cheapest price I've seen so far is $176.39 at Wholesale Trains. They also have the extra throttles for $53.99 which is the lowest price I've seen yet for them.
