Looking good! A few years back, before I had much invested in HO, I considered going to N (I had been in N scale before, got frustrated with poor running and went back to HO right before those nice Atlas/Kato RS3's came out), but there was a serious lack of equipment available for Reading first generation power and rolling stock, and I didn't want to have to cutsom paint everything. Now, everywhere I turn, there's stuff I could use... If I used N scale in my space instead of HO - wow. Oh well. I'm getting along nicely with HO, plu sit's easier to install DCC decoders. [:D]

Hi, It's been awhile since I had any progress to report. so I would like to post some pics and get some feedback. The Basic layout is there, "N" Scale, double track, Kato Unitrack, Wall mounted, sectional, "L" shaped. The layout drawing is not to scale, both the East and West legs are equal in length, 10' from corner to end. Both legs are 24" wide with a 32" dogbone on the ends. Cab Control. The feedback I'm looking for is this, I'm not quite satisfied with the yard on the East side. I want a Turntable and some yard tracks, and maybe its just the problem of 10lb of poop in a 5 lb bag, or maybe I'm not seeing the answer. I would also like suggestion on the type of bridge over the Mid corner area. And ideas for a tunnel in the mid corner with area for a Walthers New River Coal Mine ( already purchased ). Finally for now, I'm not too sold on the freight/ industry siding on the front of the West side, and I have one other turnout I'm not using, I think it's a RH # 6, if you see a good spot for it, speak up. I can run two trains at slow or mildly fast for hours un-attendted, so the track and electrical seem pretty stable.
If anyone sees a good area for a creek or canal I would like one

I would like to finalize the trackwork soon, so I can start scenery.

The area modeled is Eastern PA, Anthracite country, freelance, Reading, Transition era.

One last thing, On the pictures of the underside, I used what material I had to keep cost down. I found strong, lightweight, replacement for plywood in old test portraits I had laying around the studio. 24 x 30" 3/8" Gator Foam. And yes the wiring will be tidied up when complete. Thanks for your feedback, Dave

That's it for now. The small power pack ( 1300 ) is for the Yard / Turntable
