Thanks everyone for the response. I like some of the covers at allelectronics.com.

Depending on the size of LEDs you're using, there are LED Mounting Hardware sets available from sources such as All Electronics (http://www.allelectronics.com) . Download their PDF catalog or look at Page 5 online, and you can see what is available. You didn't fill out your profile indicating where you are calling from, but if you have an electronics supply house nearby that is something better than Radio Shack, they may have these available.

I prefer the evening gown, but the halter top has it points.

(I'm just hoping you can see mine in the dark.)

Radio Shack has plastic grommets for LEDs. You can surely get these even cheaper from a big supply house like Mouser. There are also metal ones, but that looks too gaudy to me.
Or, you can use the rectangular LEDs instead of the usual round ones. At least for track occupancy, locating rectangular LEDs within the track lines on the schematic would look neat.

you could glue small stainless steel or brass washers to the masonite over the LED..they make plate covers for them at most good electronic warehouses but that can get costly for just tidying up LED's... Chuck

Dressing up a LED on control panel
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, February 11, 2005 10:06 PM
I am looking for ideas on dressing up the LED's on my control panel. I would like something other than the LED sticking out a hole I drilled in Masonite. I saw one idea of a brass groumet.

Any ideas ?
