Welcome aboard!

I think the guys above have the track plan part covered. I would visit the general discussion area on Sundays and look for a topic called "Sunday photo Fun" You get to see other peoples layouts and projects in progress.

If you care to see my layout just follow the web link in my profile.

As stated above feel freeto ask as main questions as you need, folks around here are very helpful and knowledgable.

Above all, enjoy the hobby [:)]

Randy [#welcome],
There are many sites on the 'net' that offer track plans. One is Atlas who also offer free layout planning software called RTS. Follow the link below to look at their standard track plans:

http://atlasrr.com/

Another is The Layout Depot. They offer dozens of track plans in every scale. Just look through the list and click on anything that looks good to you. The link is:

http://layoutdepot.com/

There are many others, perhaps someone else can chime in.
Good luck in your new endeavor![:D]

Remember its your railroad

Randy,

Welcome aboard! [:)]

There are several places you can go to. Here's a couple that come to mind:

http://www.railimages.com - pics and drawings of layouts. Some of them are quite impressive.

http://www.naisp.net/users/mfischer/m_train2.htm - lotsa good layouts in N-scale with plenty of action. This may give you some great ideas to try.

In addition to that:

http://www.atlasrr.com - a FREE design program that you can download for putting together layouts using Atlas track. (It's on the left side, "RTS download") It's limited and sometimes quirky but it still can do quite a bit if you spend the time with it. The price is right.

Randy, if you click on the link at the bottom of my post, you will go to a page where I have a few pics posted on Railimages.com. There's a couple of layouts there that were designed with the Atlas RTS (Right Track software).

I'm pretty much a newbie like yourself so I'm still learning many things about model railroading and trains. Keep visiting the forum and don't be afraid to ask what you might think are dumb questions. The guys here are very knowledgeable in a wide variety of areas and always patient and willing to give a helping hand to any newbies and not-so-newbies.

Anyhow, hope that helps...

Tom

Layout images?

Hi, I'm a newbie to this forum. I built (got the trains running, anyhoo [:o)]) an N scale layout about 10 years ago based on the MRR Pennsy HO feature. I'm think about getting back into it again.

Is there a place on this site to look at layout plan images that members have built? Any other sites you recommend? Just playing with ideas about what to design at this point. All I know is that it will be fairly modest and in N gauge.

Thanks in advance!
Randy
