peco joining atlas

Hi
First I want to say sorry becouse my english isnt that good (I'm from the Netherlands).
I have a lot of peco code 80 flextrack (n gauge).
Now I can buy a lot of atlas flextrack for not to much also code 80.
Can I join them without getting troubles?

yes...code 80 is code 80 no matter who the manufacturer is...the ties may be a bit different but it will work...chuck

Just my [2c], on my first layout I mixed track (i.e. atlas,bachman etc.) and did I have problems. As a matter of fact that is my primary reason for building layout #2.

I would recommend against it. Although the height of the rail is the same, the height of the ties may be different and the profile of the rail is almost certainly different.

I've mixed Atlas 80, Peco 80, Peco 55 and Kato Unitrack with no problem.

I use Peco turnouts and Atlas flextrack and sectional track and it all goes together fine--it's Code 100, but it all works.

You're doing fine with your English. It's a bit rough but very understandable. [:)]

Here's a suggestion. Try buying a couple of pieces of Atlas Code 80 track and testing it out with your Peco track on your layout first. (Make sure that you run your locomotive and cars around it a few times in both directions.) That way you can test out the fit and you won't be out of a lot of money if it doesn't work.

Welcome to the forum. I am using mostly Atlas flex track on my layout but I do have some pieces of other brands of track to fill in where I need a short section now and then and I have a variety of turnouts of different brands. So far I have had no major problems with running anything over all of it. I was worried about electrical continuity between different types (brands) of track but that doesn't seem to be a problem. I would say as long as you keep the sizes the same (code 80) you shouldn't have a great deal of trouble. Also, your english is very good; no appologies needed. I just wish we could do so well with OUR english in this country!

I use Peco turnouts and Atlas & ME code 100 flex track and I find that I have to do a little filing and adjusting to get them as close to perfect as I can.It's nothing too bad,I think there's a difference in the web size,thicker ties, and a wider railhead

I'm also in N guage, and I've mixed Atlas code 80 and Peco code 80, with no problem.

I have Peco Code 55 turnouts and I tried to attach a straight section of Atlas Code 55 to it and the rail heights did not match. I wound up cutting a piece of Peco Code 55 flex track to make my connection. I do believe that the Peco Code 55 turnouts will connect to Atlas Code 80 with a good level fit. I haven't tried it yet, but I am going to. I have a yard that is Code 80 Atlas.

Just an experience.
