When I put trucks like this together, I make a jig that holds the sideframes square at the right distance from each other and centers the hole in the bolster.

This approach lets you trap the wheelset axle ends in the bearings at assembly rather than bending the completed truck to get the wheel sets in per instructions.

Definitely not the same truck, but maybe the assembly might be similar:

I would recommend contacting Tichy directly with your query.  Don or whomever is generally very good about returning emails.

Tichy Train 3060 Trucks
Posted by FRRYKid on Thursday, July 25, 2024 2:50 AM

Got yet another one for my Forum friends. I need some help with the assembly of Tichy 3060 trucks. For reference, this is the link from Walthers https://www.walthers.com/trucks-commonwealth-style-w-6-wheelbase-for-milk-express-service-cars

I am kitbashing some cars that use this type of truck. Normally I would stick to something like an Athearn on other one piece truck but I can't find the correct ones. I had purchased a kit previously and fouled them up greatly. They look simple but apparently they are not. How long is the center beam supposed to be for standard gauge HO? Unfortunately, the packages don't seem to come with instructions and there are none on Tichy's webpage.

As usual any assistaance that can be provided would be most welcomed.
