A few questions regarding the original and the modern re-do...
The stairs, balconies, doors and windows - are these board-by-board construction, plastic/metal castings, other?
The degree of difficulty for the two versions (I'm a long-time scratchbuilder so I'm ok with craftsman kits).
Motrak claims improved construction over the original - anything to this?
Other comments or opinions?

NScale4x8I can design and 3D print a similar model for a LOT less.
How much does a laser cutting machine cost, and how much time does it take to learn how to to make it all work?

I would believe this to be true.
Northeastern Scale Models kits were notorious for not fitting together properly. A gap here, something that didn't line up there.
An improved version would be where I would go.
