benchwork time. possible problem though with a helix
Posted by NVSRR on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 6:54 PM

So this is the layout thus far.  Hints of Bear's influence are there, his time dint go to waste.   Both upper and lower layer level is picture not in thier entirety.  The lower level sheet is on top of the upper level.  Didnt notice you can see the paper is thin enouigh to see the upper level sheet through the paper.   I got into thinking how to build this  and bench work when I realised a large fail.   I forgot to map on th access to the attic.    The dashed blue lines over helix 2 is the results.  that is were it fell.  so the options since i cannt move the access.

A make the helix removable, to move it out of the wat.

B nest 1 and 2 together. which will make lift outs neccessary.  but clearences will be achievable.

C reverse the helix two from right to left.  b ut conflict with the pennisula possible and that would force a duck under.

D. an elevator system

I am thinking option B

The section helix 2 is connected from is a fixed piece.  It currently exists in the existing layout and be reused.   Track locations are fixed on that leg coming off the windo wall.

what does the collective think?

A realist sees a frieght train

An engineer sees three idiots standing on the tracks stairing blankly in space
