Cement Manufacturing Plant - Modelling Of

I am looking for guidance re the infrastructure around a cement manufacturing plant.  Those places that get limestone, process it (heat?) the distribute in bulk or bags.

Has there been an aritlce in MR or elsewhere over the years?

That's the route I took. Still have to do some finishing touches in there (a fence, especially).

The kiln can be motorized but the stock Walthers motor is really noisy. I'm looking for an alternate.

There is a good article on cement plants in the Kalmbach book, Large and Small Industries for Your Model RailroaLd, I am parprhasing so exact title might be slightly different.  Anyway it has a nice flowchart of the cement process and some good photos of model buildings that were kitbashed with explanation.  Worth a look.

Cement plants are very common in the area I model so I have done a lot of research. Fascinating industries and great modeling subjects.

One of the posts in the old thread Bear mentioned was from a forum member who had had nearly 30 years' experience in the cement industry.  If he's still active here (pity we can't PM him!) he could probably guide the discussion here.
