Sheldon - any news on breaking ground on your layout?
Posted by Ablebakercharlie on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 4:36 PM

I have been following Sheldon's plans on his new layout since I joined the forum and as a fellow DC operator I have been looking forward to hearing news on how it has been progressing.

So Sheldon, could I kindly ask how you are doing on your layout?  Have you had the opportunity to break ground yet?

I am looking forward to hearing about how its going!

What I would suggest is that we form a posse and head over to Sheldon's house to force him to start post haste.  Smile, Wink & Grin

Count me in!  I'd even help build it just to learn about his control system.

Progress is slow due to busy work schedule. In my business you take the work when you can get it.

When I do have time, I have been running wiring for the lighting, and clearing out more of the space, so nothing exciting or glamorous yet, just prep work.

The lighting is a big deal because it is much easier to do first, and the existing lighting is very poor.

Thanks for the interest, however slow it is underway.

My limited appearence on this forum is a direct result of the busy work schedule and spending time working on the layout room, so don't be surprised if you don't hear much from me until there is something of interest to show.

Thanks for letting us know how things are going.

Just want to mention that what you might think is not exciting or glamorous would still, most likely, be interesting for us newcomer modelers.  I can only speak for myself of course but I find the whole process of bringing a layout to fruition from the idea to the end result quite fascinating.

Any kind of documentation that you are willing to share with the forum on the birth of your new layout would, I'm sure, be well received. (if you can spare the time of course)

Good luck with your efforts!
