Subject says it all. I found a Mayflower trailer in a collection of items that I was given by a modeler who, due to age, could no longer do it. As it works perfectly for both the area and era I model I would like to have it "operating" on my roads. Brand doesn't matter as long as it doesn't break the bank. (>$40-50)
As usual, any suggestions as where to find one would be welcomed.
There's a Con-Cor one on eBay right now for $25, with tractor and trailer.
I don't see any difficult or fancy graphics or paint job on the cab. You might be able to get any generic cab, paint it yellow with some trim, print up a simple decal for the doors on your computer and have a good model.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Some of the Mayfower models on Ebay have undecorated cabs. Classic Metal Works make a variety of undec cabs. A little more work would be Sylvan, if you want to build an paint it yourself.

Since the OP is trying to use an existing van model, does anyone have a suggestion for Mayflower yellow? Looking at Mayflower pictures online, it appears all the complexity is on the van, and very little on the tractor.
FRRYkid, a search of " Mayflower Van Lines images" produced pictures of trucks of widely varying eras. If you have the trailer I remember, it is a 1980s vintage, prototype and model. The images show yellow tractors for earlier 1950s vintage rigs, while the 1980s units are the same green as the trailer. There are also pictures of Mayflower trailers hooked to owner/operator tractors in whatever paint scheme the owner chose. None had glaring "Mayflower" graphics on them, in fact, most of the lettering seen was on the cab doors, and that on the green tractors related to ICC permits. All lettering was in yellow and could be "fudged" with bits of freight car data, if this is not going to be a fore-ground model.
In the 1980s, most "bedbuggers" (trucker's term for household goods haulers) on anything more than a local job, ran sleeper cabs, with the cab-over-engine design preferred for its shorter wheelbase. Those cabs are available from www.3000toys.com or, www.hobbylinc.com . Another resource to take note of is www.1-87vehicles.org , a site for HO scale vehicle modelers, with some valuable links to suppliers of parts, decals, etc, just like we have for trains. Check it out and good luck.
Concor models:
The top truck is the 70s-80s colors, the bottom truck is the 90s version. Mayflower now uses a mostly white cab/trailer-with a green stylized ship and graphics.(their sister company United uses white with blue/gold graphics and an eagle.)
I did find one and I should be receiving it later today.
