One More Question On Peco Switch Motors

O.K. Guys Thanks again for all your help..but... I have one more question.
I installed the mounting plate for under the benchwork installation. Looks great but, the pin that goes into the throw rod has no tenchin to it. The pin slides back and forth without throwing the turnout. If I move it completly to one side or the other and apply some force the turnout will throw.
Now for the stupid question...Is this because there is no power to as of yet and when I do apply power to the switch motor tench will be created to move the throw rod?
Hope you guys understand this....Pleae help.....
Louie
