Scenery Material ID?
Posted by Metro Red Line on Saturday, September 26, 2020 11:32 PM

Can anyone ID this scenery material (manufacturer and product name)? It's some sort of fibrous material used for bushes. I've had this in my scenery box for years but lost the label. I'm looking for more of the same material but in different colors. There's a UPC label included but I've come up empty in my code search:

I'm wondering if that is the black poly fiber from Micromark.  This is their in-house product used for making trees/bushes.  Their item number (84907) doesn't match the UPC label number shown, so I'm only guessing.  Anyway, you may want to check out their website for more info.

Cheers,

Jeff

Humm,

80859 comes up as Accurail.

At least they're still in business. Maybe send them an email and they can help?

Further, 1414 comes up as brown bramble brush:

Thanks, Ed! I think you got it there! The hanging display card packaging on the Accurail website looks vaguely familiar.

Unfortunately they don't make any other color than brown or black, but I guess I can experiment with painting this one. Trying to make sagebrush or creosote bush out of this material.

Have you looked here?

Lots of stuff!

JTT is another distributor of the polyfiber. They seem to have several lighter colors:
