Transfer Table?
Posted by The Milwaukee Road Warrior on Saturday, December 14, 2019 6:51 PM

Does anyone know where to find a transfer table HO scale for a shops setting?  There is one in this video just before 5 minute mark.  I think Walther's used to make one but I didn't see anything in the 2020 catalog.

Marklin made a transfer table, you can find them on Ebay.  Heljan made them too, but I can only find youtube videos, no Ebay sales.  There are Walthers "extensions" on ebay right now, but no tables.  The cost is similar to turntables.

Some of the "sold" Walthers transfer tables on ebay sold for around $100, recently.

A good deal, judging from these Walthers examples that are out of stock:

This N scale Trix option is in stock:

https://www.walthers.com/transfer-table

But I’m assuming the OP is not in N!

I also found an MR review of the table:

Hope you find these useful!

Are you in a huge hurry?  I suppose you might luck out and find one at a train show.

I really wanted a carfloat and apron, but those kits were long out of production at Walthers.  They could be found for up to 10 times the original MSRP.  Then, Walthers recognized the demand, and started making them again.  They've done that with a few other popular but retired models.

If you don't need this right away, it may pay to wait.  No promises, but stuff does come around.

I'd second that thought. Walthers tends to make a product for a few years, then let it go "out of stock" for a while, and then bring it back. The new 2020 catalogue has several HO items that have not been produced for several years but are back now.

Has anyone tried the Marklin transfer table?  I don't know enough about Marklin track to know if you can mate Peco/ME/Atlas etc to whatever "M Track" is.  A Walthers table just sold for $450 on eBay, so seems like a few people are waiting in line for those...
