N Scale Chain Link Fence
Posted by York1 on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 6:43 PM

I'm looking for some N Scale chain link fence that looks somewhat realistic.  I found some that will work, but the links were a little wide, making it look fake even from a distance.

Does anyone have N Scale fencing that looks realistic?  Who makes it?

Some specialty teas come in a very fine mesh nylon tea bag. Not sure how fine but much finer than toulee which some use for HO scale chain link.

Hello. I model in Nscale and I have a couple of different chain link fences on my layout. The first picture is from BLMA and it has smaller "links," but it was also more delicate and labor intensive. the support poles had to measured, cut, painted and glued to the fence before placing on the layout. This kit is a little more difficult to find since BLMA was absorbed by Atlas, but they are out there if you look.

These next 2 pictures are of the Gold Metal Models chain fence. the Links are a little larger, but I prefer this fence. I enjoy the added barb wire detail on the top. It is much more durable and easier to weather and work with. You can also buy it with or without the gates.

I feel both brands look realistic. I hope this helps. Happy modeling and good luck. Cheers!

I saw this super fine mesh wedding veil material in the fabric section at Hobby Lobby.  I knew it  would work really good for that after it was spray-painted.  Spray painting it would make it more rigid and more pliable too.

By the way, very nice looking fences John CollinsYes

Thanks for the replies.  I looked at the Gold Medal fencing, and that looked like something I will like.
