I have used a company called WidgetCo with great success and very good pricing.

Track fiddler Interesting. I do have cork under my valve covers on my rebuilt 69 Mustang engine. Apparently my brother-in-law likes that better than the Blue Goop. Makes sense, he is old school and so am I. TF

That's exactly what the automotive cork is traditionally used for - - gaskets.
Any sheet cork that I have used, I get at an auto parts store (Napa, O'Reilly, etc.). They come in, I believe, either one or two ft. by 3 ft. rolls. I get the rubberized kind, which is much more durable than regular cork, which tends to crumble when you attempt to cut it. I believe you can get it in either 1/8" (0.125") or 1/16" (0.0625") thickness. I get the 1/8" and use it two thicknesses, stacked for roadbed on branch lines and in sheets, single thickness in yards, etc. I've never priced it from the other sources but in my opinion, it is quite inexpensive.
I get my larger cork sheets in rolls at Hobby Lobby too.
I apply them with the 3M spray stuff to the back of the cork and to the front of the foam.
As always, it works really well. You just have to start putting it down exactly correct right from the start. There is no turning back.
The items that I am looking at are these two: https://www.ebay.com/itm/CORK-SHEET-24-X-36-X-3-16/172279115982?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

I just haven't decided how many sheets I want.
If you have a Hobby Lobby near you I would suggest this.

I used this to make roadbed in HO scale.

I found the item I was looking for. I was searching for 5mm rather than 3/16". Once I did that I found what I was looking for.
I buy my 12"x36" sheets on Amazin from a company called Cleverbrands. I get the HO scale 3/16" in packs of 5.

Got another one for my Forum friends. Does anyone have a good source for larger cork sheets (e.g. 2' wide by 4' long by 5mm or .2" thick)? I had purchased some from an Internet source when I preparing to build the major section of my new layout. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find that source again. (I am in the midst of planning to build a new section and reuse a section from my old layout to complete a yard end.) I have found just about every thickness except the 5mm (.2"). In theory, I could work with 6mm by adjusting how the sections join to each other but I still would like the 5mm. I would like to keep the source in the US. Thank you as usual for any assistance that can be provided.
