Blank brick sheet and architectural details
Posted by NVSRR on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 2:02 PM

Is there anyplace that makes a good blank brick sheet and architecture brick details?   Mostly 1800's aged brick.   This modual is modern day but will have industrial builds from the 1800's in it.  It is a scratchbuild project. The brick sheet can be either paper or plastic.  Already colored or requiring coloring. Doesnt matter.  Walthers used to make a blank modular wall sheet that was really good in brick size and the mortar gap was noce and small.

Thanks

Wolfie

Walthers still has brick sheets, along with many other places.  Do some searching around on the good ol' internet.

I havent seen walther brick sheets in years.    Just like the holgates and renolds sheets.     I have gotten tired of seeing something online that looks good but ends up being a complete waste of money and poorly done.  I figured it is better to ask.  Plus somebody might know of a hidden corner where somebody makes an excellent item that doesnt show up in "google"

There are quite a few that are listed as "out of stock", but there are also many in stock, and from other suppliers that Walthers represents.

OK,  I guess we'll see what shows up, as I'll be watching too.  Getting hard to hide from Google, and have a business that can keep operating and compete.

May be you can cast your own?  Resin casting seems to be a reasonable option for things you can't find.

Maybe add resin casting brick panels to your thread title.  I'll bet you get more ideas.

There have been several brick threads in the last couple weeks.  I should know what 1800's brick is, living in Annapolis, but I can't say I could describe it.

Carolina Craftsman kits was selling brick/stone sheets 8.5x11 at Timonium.  They are not on their website, so you might try calling them and see if it meets your needs.

The is a free site in England that offers pdf downloads of paperbricks  Management removed the web address from that thread, but the problem is the generated pdf doesn't open.  Maybe the site has been abandoned, dunno, but the pdf is 0 bytes, so their troubleshooting doesn't help.

JTT, the scenery outfit that MRC imports, has a line of plastic sheet details including brick.

So do Plastruct and Walthers itself of course

Perhaps because of its name, it is often forgotten that N Scale Architect has lots of stuff for HO including brick as well as brick wall details

I have used the JTT sheets and really like them.  Easy to work with.  The make several patterns also- cinder block is another of my favorites.

Both Clever Models http://clevermodels.squarespace.com/   (O Scale, S Scale, HO Scale and N Scale)     and

Scale Scenes   https://scalescenes.com/railscenes/  (N Scale, OO Scale)  sale downloadable texture sheets. Download once and print as many copies as needed.   They may be printed in other scalesby changing print %.

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

Look through these from Plastruct. 1/100 is HO also. I have used them many times in a variety of patterns. Detail is crisp. They have gone up in price, but what hasn't?

https://plastruct.com/product-category/plain-and-patterned-sheet/patterned-sheet/?filtering=1&filter_scale=310

I have some of the Walthers brick sheets, but thses are deeper mortar details. They are about the size of a sheet of loose leaf paper.

Take Care! Big Smile
