looking for Jeeps
Posted by hwolf on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 6:25 PM

I am building a module that will include a jeep obstacle course.  I am looking for about 4 jeeps.  Commercial ones are too expensive. If anyone has some jeeps laying around that they would like to part with please let me know.  HO Scale, any year, any condition but not plastic.

Thanks in advance and have a great holiday

How close is the o-course to the viewer? Will it be eye level or lower? What is your top price per jeep®?

Do a Google search on 'shapeways ho scale jeep' - lots of options.  There is a 4 pack for under $30.

If you insist on having metal items, I would check Ebay. If you are sensitive to price, you will need to be patient.

Brekina just released a 1967 Jeep Wagoneer in HO plastic.  Not cheap but really nice.  I have one and it looks sharp!

As it is a module it is within 6 inches from the front.  Standard height slightly lower than eye level. It is not the feature of the module so I need to have it look good but cost me only a little.

As it is a module it is about 6 inches from the front at a slightly down looking angle.  As it is not the main feature of the module I need to keep this looking good but cheap.  I have time to locate them.

Aha, then good photos of jeeps are out. You do know what   j-e-e-p stands for?        j=just, e=empty, e=every, p=pocket.

The jeeps I am looking for is sitting in an old box under one of the layouts of one of the people on this forum or on a shelf with his wife asking why he or she is not getting rid of all that junk.

Ok guys or girls.  Go check the boxes.

I did and guess what I found. A bunch of plastic flat fender jeeps and tracked armor. Train show/swapmeet stuff, I love digging deep in under table boxes at shows. You need a flashlight more then not to see in the boxes. Edit: Wow, I found more jeeps, (Roco) CJ-5's the cream color golden eagle and a black golden eagle. One OD flat fender and one red flat fender with a blue light attached to the left side of the wind screen.

Both the Brekina '62 jeep gladiator pickup truck and the '67 wagoneer are superb vehicles (Thank you Brekina). You need to look close at their grills, the wagoneer's have the wide grill (late) and the pickup's come with a wide grill (late) or a narrow grill (early). Now when I heard and saw that Brekina was bringing out (#175-58902) a '50's-'80's (these dates are impossible for this one vehicle) universal I thought it would be on par with the past two. The wheel base (84'') is correct for a '73-'83. It is 6'' to short in width. Overall length is close enough (138''). The grill has the spot on 7 slots. I wish the folkes at Brekina would had done more homework on this model. I'm judging this little jeep against Brekina's previous releases and i'm just a little, well maybe a lot disappointed in this one. I have two of them so far. I will not mind modifing a few of these for offroad adventures.

I knew you guys would come through. As it is an off road track only an off road vehicle will work for the scene. Is it possible to send some pics. I will give you my E-Mail. If you would like to donate them I will make sure I send you pics of the final module.  If not swap meet pricing will work.

I truely appreciate your time.  Haroldwolf@bellsouth.net

Thanks in advance

HW, you may not want to post your email address on screen. Something to do with robots stealing it. I think you can send me a message/start a conversation by clicking on my screen name.

Edit: I see no rules about posting email address in the forum rules. So looks like your good.

I have no photos on a third party host (photobucket ect.) to post here. Sorry.
