Cad design question: Anybody using RailModeller Pro for Mac for designing their layouts?
Yep! Love it. I've only done a 4x6 with it, but I look forward to doing a full room layout with it.
Use it a lot - top-notch stuff; also use AnyRail for Windows.
You can try RailModeler Express (which is free) before the paid version, if you like.
I believe there is a limit of 50 elements in any single plan.
But you could create several "partial plans" to work around that...
I like the SCARM tool. It's also free and has a limit on the number of elements. The tool you use only gets you so far. One thing to aim for is broad curves each one is consistant.
kasskabooseI like the SCARM tool.
The original post is about programs for the Mac. SCARM doesn't run natively on a Mac.

Check Empire Express by Haddon. Simple and easy to learn and inexpensive. Not a lot of bells and whistles but accurate and plenty good enough for planning.

I’ve used it for several years. Excellent software IMOP. More importantly, the developer is very active with updates and upgrades, and responds quickly to questions/suggestions on their forum. Probably the best return on 40 bucks I’ve ever spent.
