grade percents HO scale

I have a 2% gade measured over 18 feet
but there are two curves the train has to go through as it ascends.
Both of the radius are 36"
When there are curves in the rise of the grade should you take in more time to ascend instead of the usual 100"?
does this make sense?

Yes, there is increased resistance friction due to the curves that can be calculated. See Joe Fugate's explanation in the operations segment in his forum.
