Try gorilla super glue gel. Sets up fast and you only need a drop the size if a finish nail head to hold.
alco's forever!!!!! Majoring in HO scale Minorig in O scale:)
now that i uderstand the question better. if you want almost instent hold try hot glue .
You can often skewer the Supertree material onto the substrate branches so it stays in place as the glue dries. Unfortunately the pre-packaged Super Sage material usually has most of the fine branches cut off, which impedes this process vs using unmodified armatures.
The other advice I have was already given above - CA and accelerator. It works great.

i would use paper tape, maybe the stuff florists use. Later, spray paint the armature to cover up the tape.
NVSRR also not sure how sticking the tree into a piece of foam will help with the glue setting faster
Wasn't exactly sure what you were asking, I suspected glueing more branches to the tree, but wasn't sure. The foam is just to hold a tree up while you paint, and add flocking, and has nothing to do with glueing on extra branches.
Would it be worth the extra work to add a short piece of a stick pin to the trunk, and then stick the branch on to the pin? also adding a drop of CA.?
I seen it on a video once, the guy was making O scale trees. I think he may have drilled a small hole in the trunk to stick the pin into.
You could possibly drill a hole the size of the branch, into the trunk, and glue the branch into the hole.
I've never tried glueing on more branches.
The CA accelerant mentioned in a previous post would probably help.

Use a CA accellerator to cure the CA more rapidly.

The problem is glueing branches to the sage. I have to sit and hold them until the glue grabs Looking for a glue that will grab quicker CA for some reason grabs slow on this too. Even thought that same CA works fast elsewhere. also not sure how sticking the tree into a piece of foam will help with the glue setting faster

I see his question as how to adhere branches to an armature, not the ground foam or flocking to the branches. He mentions sage, not ground foam.
I'm still not sure what the OP is talking about. Glueing on extra limbs? or glueing the finished tree to the layout?
I build my trees, with the trunk stuck in a peice of foam, and I install the trees buy sticking the trunk in the foam base I have under my layout. I just leave extra length on the trunk.
Not a gluing issue, a holding issue.
Stick the armature into a piece of foam and go on the next tree.
I havent tried hob-e-tac. Have to give that a try
What do you mean "because trees"?

Wolfie,
Have you tried Woodland Scenics Hob-e-Tac adhesive? It goes on wet like white glue but dries clear and becomes tacky. That's when you add the foliage.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
scenic express has thier super tree material with a seperate sage brush material that makes a nice armature. I have tried various glues which all have worked in cluding CA. Problem is having to hold the branch for a few minutes til the glue grabs. Even the CA is very slow to grab when used on these materials for an unknown reason. Anybody know of an adheisive that grabs quicker? Would like to increase glueing pace.
