I model a fictional (free lance version) of the Western Pacific railroad. Alot has changed since my last post, particularly with the way photos are uploaded, so i hope i'm able to link the photo correctly.

Bob, I recently came back too.  I didn't run things often and the state of repair got to the point where I needed to decide, am I going to do this or tear it out?  Common sense prevailed and I spent a month of extra time, cleaing track and loco wheels, testing everything, fixing bugs.  Now I operate at least monthly, usually more.

Welcome back, I am new to you too.  Photobucket exploded in a fit of greed and avarice.  Some chose to pay for it, but those of us who don't wade through a massive number of ads and pop ups.

I use Imgur.com and find the SHARE BB link, copy that directly in the post, without using the picture icon and it works every time.

BTW, were you guys able to open and see the photo links i posted? I just want to make sure i did it correctly.

Welcome (back),Bob.

Though your pictures don't show up in your post(for me,anyway),they opened when I clicked on the black boxes. I was also able to scroll through your other photos - what a terrific looking layout!

I dunno what everybody else saw, Bob, but I not only didn't see the pictures, but the links weren't visible either.
I always enjoyed your photographs, so I hope that you can get that issue cleared up, as I expect the newer Members here will like them, too.

To the lower right of your picture on Flikr are 4 icons.  Click on the arrow that curves up and to the right.

A new window opens, click on the far right choice BBCode

Hit the control button and the c button at the same time.  That copies the link to your clipboard.

Return to this forum and write your post.  To insert the photo, hit the control button and the v at the same time.  You will see a huge link but not the picture until you hit Submit your reply.  There are ways to trim that down, but I end up confusing people when I tell them how.

Do not use the link icon or the photo icon in the composition tool bar to insert this link.

And I didn't see anything in his post, that even linked to photos.  No little black boxes, nothing.  Just the text of his post.

Henry, I see your photo, is that one of his? or testing yours?

Mike.

It's my photo.  I wanted to test before I wrote the directions on how to do it.

Welcome back Bob,

Let me introduce myself, my name is Steven, I am also a freelancer, my railroad is the Northwestern Pacific and the Southwestern Pacific railroads or NWP-SWP a 1920s merger/consolidation of the railroads in the west, the railroads still retain their identities but are owned and operate alongside NWP-SWP equipment.

I look forward to seeing your modeling work. And again welcome back.

Steve

I'm still with photobucket, so don't have a clue about other sites.  I can now see your photo, though, so it looks as if you have it right.

Bob, I saw the you tube video you posted years ago.  You do good work.

There is one more thing you may want to change, or not, on Photobucket.

If you click on my posted photo, you go to the Flickr site and see a bigger picture, If I click on yours, I get a message that it is a private photo.  You can change it under account settings, in the very top right upper corner.   I think what you need to change is under Defaults for new uploads, to make them public.

I suppose that means someone could steal your photo.  Google already knows everything about me and if I had the new Iphone 10, it would be watching me all the time with the camera, so I don't lose any sleep over that.
