I am not familiar fully with the Kato N scale line of trackage.

.

In HO scale they have at least 6 different track radius that will make very neat parallel tracks.

.

I would love to see pictures of your project.

Hi

Thanks I have drawn the yards up with kato unitrack the issue I am having with the unitrack it that the yards are L shaped and with 6 parallel tracks. Even in n scale uni track does not have the curves needed. I may live with it, it just doesnt come out a smooth ane neat as I can get with flex track.

Welcome to the Model Railroader forums.

.

I model in HO scale, so I am jealous of how much variety you have in UniTrack for N scale.

.

I will use Kato Unitrack in my hidden staging yards. This is only because it will be so easy to replace if anything ever goes wrong. It does not need to be glued in place, the turnouts are power routing, and power feeders are easily added.

.

I also would never consider using anything but UniTrack for a helix.

Kato unitrack layout Staging yards
Posted by KWS1366 on Friday, January 5, 2018 10:16 AM

Hello

I am building a 14x16 n scale layout using kato unitrack. The room I have also has room for 2 5 track staging yards with a reverse loop in each. The staging yards are open and accessable. They are L shaped so I am wanting to use flex track to build them. I have digitrax dcc with wifi so manual trowing of turnouts for the staging yard is fine.
Option 1 is atlas code 80 #6 turnouts and track.
Option 2 is peco large turnouts and atlas track.
I am not worried about the look of the track.
I would like to know if the atlas turnouts are reliable
