Some layout and lokie progress. 70 ton, 3 truck Climax #1 has gained 8 wheel power pickup, working front light(rear is going to work soon!) and relettered to TCL Co. The bobber is scratch built by a friends late father and has a full interior, removable roof, built on a Central Valley sprung truck. I also have a second one packed away somewhere that I need to find. I also found my bag of trees I have squirrled away over the last couple of years. I got some of those installed, which really helps some. The building on the front siding is temporary as I plan to put Woodland Scenic's Buzz's Sawmill. I will also curve the siding to allow room for the Climax and a couple log buggies to get off the main line. That track will get a block switch so I can leave the Climax there and run Rayonier #8 on the main. I also picked up a 2 truck Climax basket case, also a PFM import, that is in the shops getting drive train work and painted. Hope to get some more buildings at the train shows thru the winter. Silly NT's, I have Asperger's Syndrome
Shore line will remain the same but get lots of trees, unsure on the road vs the hillside, will depend on what buildings I put on the two sidings.
Will the coast line still going to be there or raised a bit?
How much of the road will be destroyed for the hill and lumber mill?

Here is my Climax, still got the noisy open frame motor but running smoothly. Waiting on a package from NWSL with shaft sleeves for the motor I want to put in the engine and new motors for my Mallets. These Climax models didnt power the optional 3rd truck back then. The later ones from PFM like the Hillcrest Climax did have the 3rd truck powered. Still looks good, even if just along for the ride.
I will post pics of my Climax once its back together, its in pieces getting a can motor installed at the moment. My second 2-6-6-2t should arrive in a couple weeks if all goes to plan. Mike the Aspie
Nice lookin' lokeys!
And you can see the top one is really articulated, too.

As I was looking for ideas on a layout for my little room, this already build up 48"x85" layout popped up on Facebook marketplace. I picked it up for less than the track and wood would have cost. Its done with code 83 flex track and has 2 sidings, a nicely done waterfront/coast line and it was in really nice shape overall. I replaced the missing bridge with an Atlas warren truss, the front bridge will get a logging design with tree trunks and such used to support the track. I had done some engine swapping with another member over there and ended up with 4 engines. 2 mallets, a 3 truck Climax and an elderly 0-8-0. One of the mallets was the huge 2-8-8-2 Weyerhaeuser one, wayyyy to large. Its being swapped for another 2-6-6-2t. The plan is to letter the 2 mallets and the Climax for my Wolf Creek Lumber Co and the 0-8-0 will work for the small Turtle Creek Timber Co. The short siding at the front of the layout screams for the little saw mill that Woodland Scenics offers all built up. That will be the TCT Co. The large paved area will get reworked to look like dirt and probably get one of the buildings from the Walthers lumber series that is set up for the track to pass thru the middle of the building. The larger WCL Co sawmill will be on an extension shelf in the future. Lots of trees will help set the scene somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. The Mallets are second hand from the Rayonier, thier old #8 and thier Climax #1, along with Booth Kelly #2. Kaydee disconnets for the TCT Co and brass skeletons for WCL Co. I will add a low hillside with lots of trees to help seperate the little saw mill scene from the larger complex area. Mike the Aspie
