Road painting

For painting a road off of the layout, outside this is quick, simple and looks decent.

Road Color 001

Using shaker cans, applied two coats of grey primer and let dry, then a flat black from about three feet overhead with a light mist, another misting of flat grey, then a very light misting of saten ivory.

Road Color 002

Yellow line is using model airplane striping

jwar41.   Nice work.  Very impressive technique for a brand new asphalt Highway.

I like it

Nice looking pavement and striping.  However probably should have white edge lines 10-12' from centerline to delineate edge of traveled way.

White edge lines became standard at same time as yellow centerlines.

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

Yes I will put in a white fog line. The hobby shop is out of it. You going to be at the open house in Yuba City on the 23 rd.

Just a reminder that fog lines weren't common until the '60s.
