Plugs for decoders?

I think there's two versions of the E8, or maybe it's the E7's, one with a socket and one that needs hard wiring.
Oh and the DH163L0 also fits some of the steamers, in the tender they have the very same diode board that the GP's have. Odd, but true. [:D]

No, they're specifically designed for the GPx series and a couple of the SDs from LifeLike. The E8s require installing a wired decoder, according to the Digitrax website: http://www.digitrax.com/appnote_e8e9.php

FYI, Digitrax has a nice, fairly up-to-date listing on their website of what decoders work with which locos: http://www.digitrax.com/decsel.php. Very handy reference, and they're the only ones I'm aware of that put out a listing like that (other vendors usually have the loco info on the specific decoder page, not a single-source listing).

Yes, I am aware of the direct plug-in decoders available, but at $11 each for the NCE's I bought, I couldn't resist. I just wasn't aware that some of the other decoders don't require a bulb change. Thanks for the info though!!

Since you already have them, by all means use them, but I just wanted to make you aware that the Digitrax DH163L0 is a direct plug-in for P2K GPs and some of the others with the socket, and you won't have to change the light bulbs or resistors. All 3 of my GP7's have them, and since I had an extra, I 'made' it fit my S-1.

I have some NCE D13SR decoders that have no plug end. I have looked at some of the online retailers and haven't been able to locate plugs. I would like to attach a plug to the decoders to plug into my P2K locos. Maybe I am not searching for the correct part. What is it I actually need, and who sells it?
