Thanks everyone. This is just what I needed.

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.
I don't have a leg to stand on.
Along with what Ed told you, maybe try putting together the half circles on each end of your 4'x8', and fill in with the straight sections, to connect them. I think your trying to make two ovals, the outside being 22" radius and the inside 18" ?
I think the straight sections are 9" long? It might not work out to full straight pieces, you might need a small filler section.
Just a suggestion.

I think an 18" circle uses 12 pieces and a 22" circle uses 16.
That would mean 6 and 8 to do a full 180 degree turnback.
Or 3 and 4 if you're doing "corners".
Does that help?

Hello,
I'm currently putting out some Atlas code 83 track on my 4x8 table just for fun. I'm using 18" and 22" curves to make a double loop- however, something is REALLY confusing me. I'm using the same number of straight pieces along the side of the layout, but when I get to the curves, I have one side where I'm using 3 18" and 3 22", and one side where I'm using 4 of each- and I can't seem to get the two tracks to line up- am I missing something obvious? I'm just really confused with how the curves are acting. Thanks!
