Great job on the kit.  That model is a dead ringer (no pun intended) for the 1869 built Episcopal church I attended as a kid, right down to the graying peeling paint (yes their collection plates were likely always a bit bare) and the bell.  That bell had the rope go down inside, and the rope was the first thing you saw when going inside.  That church and steeple were all so rotted and rickety it must have taken real bravery to stand directly under the bell and tug on the rope!  Ah well, the power of prayer ...  I suspect the only thing keeping the building up was the accumulated decades of incense on the interior walls.

All I remember of the roof was that it was dark.   And it leaked.

That church was torn down in 1959.  They saved the bell but not much else.

Nice Graf!

Like Mike suggested, the collections plates must have been a little bare recently.

Thanks, I saw an outside rope on a website of old churches (pre 20:th century).

Looks nicely weathered.  Parishiners need to get together for a painting sermon Smile

The bell adds a nice finishing touch, and the rope sure looks sturdy enough!  I don't believe I've ever seen a church with the bell rope on the outside.

Nice work.  Your web site looks great too, although I can't read it Laugh

Your models always look great.  Impressive.

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

I built the Blair line church kit.
http://www.blairline.com/church/

I started it two days ago....
It's a rather good kit, but the roof material sucked. I replaced it with Campbell shingles instead.

The lack of a bell bothered me, but I solved it by 3D printing a bell and fastener.

I weathered it by painting white acrylic over stained wood that I had soaked with mineral spirits.

The roof is painted tan and then I brushed on burnt umber oil paint that I wiped of while wet.

The windows turned out really good with the stained glass plastic.
