An HO scale around a tree is best when you have it at least
3" off the floor. Are you looking to have this custom built ??
If not, follow these plans:
Get your plywood base / subroadbed and mark where you will
lay track. Now, mark where center of your tree is and be sure
the two will not interfere with the other. If you have a fake tree
like I do, bore a hole big enough for the tree pole in center of
layout. Next, level out your layout with lumber or legs as now you
will have the layout resting on top of the tree stand.
Create your world as normal on the layout, lay track, scenery, ballast,
etc. But when ready to put buildings, remember the height clearance
to the tree branches and / or ornaments that will dangle.
Good luck with your tree train and Happy Holiday!!

I'm looking for some layout plans for a train around a Christmas tree. I'm looking for the layout and the construction of the stand/plywood. HO scale. Does anyone have any or know where to locate some?
