Thank you! I probably will be scratchbuilding the tower, whenever I get around to doing it. I will defiantly take pictures and make a thread here to show off all my work!

Thanks again,

I refer often to books for information on that area (and era...late 60's):

Trackside around Detroit 1946-1976 with Emery Gulash by Jerry A. Pinkepank (Morning Sun Books)

Chesapeake and Ohio Railway in Color Vol. 2 by Jeremy F. Plant and William G. McClure III

YouTube also has some useful footage on that area. I believe it's from a New York Central Odyssey series. There are a couple others too but I can't recall the specific names. Search for 'C&O around Detroit' or something like that.

Though I'm not a member, the Rails on Wheels club (Saline, MI) has an N scaler who has a nice Pere Marquette layout and knows the PM/C&O well. I'm sure if you contacted that group someone there can help you.

I've designed a layout from FSUD to Rougemere that will fit in my 10'x27' basement but have been distracted with Free-Mo for the past 10 years or so. Maybe when (if) I ever get a bigger basement I'll be more motivated.

I've found google maps to be helpful. It seemed one of the zoom levels of the Delray area, when printed out, came very close to whatever graph paper I was sketching on...the whole area (uncompressed) could fit in about 20' x 2'. Maybe someday I will build it as a Free-Mo module set. :)

Will you be scratchbuilding the Delray tower? I'd love to see how yours turns out (and any in-progress photos you might take). Good luck, I'm happy to see someone else interested in this area. :)

Are you thinking of a recent track layout or something from the past? A lot has been eliminated since it's peak.

Google "railroad signal tower delray" and you will get lots of information.
