Have a look at MR May issue on page 34. Track plan for a port on a shelf is an example of Inglenook Siding that can be incorporated in any layout, large or small. You can use such arrangement of tracks as a yard or a puzzle.

These are the two most famous "puzzles".  Thier names may help you search.  The was an article in MR a few years back about how to incorporate these into a track plan.

Hello

I was wondering if anyone can remember if there is an issue of MRR with an article about "Switching Puzzles" i.e. part of a layout used to re-order freight cars. This could be used for building train consists.

I am pretty sure I've read one such article but it would be very helpful if anyone could tell me what issues are covering this subject.

Any advice would be much appreciated
