Joe,
I have never seen the series you refer to, but I have some experience with the River Pass layout. I purchased one already built from a neighbor. The workmanship was good and included all the buildings, a decent (Kato) engine and some rolling stock. My plan was to add a tunout so I could connect it to my switching layout for contiuous running. The 18 inch radius curves are very limiting. As a stand alone layout, you will get bored with it very quickly. My advise, if you haven't bought the various kits to build it, don't. Check out the data base here for lots of good layout plans, or check some of MRRs project layouts. There are many that are designed as first time layouts that will keep you and/or your children interested.
Hi
I am looking for a source of the 5 episodes concerning Woodland Scenics River Pass layout built by Miles Hale on DIY Working on the Railroad series.
I have looked online for months but since the show was on 2004 it is impossible to find . I did find a 6 min clip on YouTube dealing with risers but that was not enough.Miles had an interesting and better way to build this layout instead of the ambiguous instructions from Woodland Scenics.
Thanks hope you guys can help
Joe
