how do you post bitmap pics in posts on here?

Like Ed said, I'm not sure if the forum will even accept bmp format. I know that it will take jpg and gif though.

 Up to your webbrowser what image formats it recognize. Pretty much all browsers recognize jpg and gif, not all recognize .bmp.

 Fix ? Load bmp image into image processing app (e.g. Mspaint), save as jpg before uploading.

First thing you need to do is find a photo hosting website. You don't actually upload your photo or artwork from your computer to this forum. What you do is have the pictures uploaded to a photo hosting site, then you include a link in your post that contains the address of your photo.

There are several free photo hosting websites. I use Railimages.com. You can click on the link under my name to see what a typical album over there looks like.

I'm not sure if you can upload a bmp file to one of those sites or not, I've never tried. I suppose if there's any problem with that all you need to do is convert a copy of the file to jpg format. I'm pretty sure that's what I did when I uploaded my layout plan to Railimages.

So, first step is go off and open an account at a photo hosting site. You can probably find others by looking at various photos posted on the forum, and right clicking on the photo, then clicking on 'properties'. That should bring up a box including the photo's address, which should show the site it is hosted on.

There have been several threads recently over on the General Forum regarding photo posting. I'll find one of the threads and post it here later. Meanwhile you need to find yourself a photo hosting site.

i'm trying to get a pic of my layout i am currently designing on my computer and i can't seem to figure out how to show it on here to you all to let everyone give me suggestions on it. thanks for the help... Chad
