Cut a piece of plywood to fit under the foam were the turnout is located. Attach a Piece of scrap 1x4 to one side of your benchwork (under the layout, plywood width down from the foam. Slide in the plywood and put another scrap piece of lumber on the opposite side of the benchwork frame.

Never needed to do it, but most I've seen involve gluing a piece of 1/4 plywood to the foam, then mounting the turnout control to that. You could use just about any method that would work with mounting to wood then, including hot glue, which doesn't work too well with foam.

Any mounting tips?
Thanks.
