Code 55 Double slip switch . . . Atlas to Peco?

I am leaning toward the Peco.  I have a TON of Atlas, but I may save that for diaromas etc in the future.

Before moving to Kato's Unitrack I tried Atlas C55 switches and flex track and I ended tweaking two out of the four due to loose points..

I now use HO Peco switches and recommend Peco switches in  N Scale.

As I am an HO scale modeler and not N scale I cannot attest to the the differences between Atlas or Peco products in N-scale, however, I can tell you that HO scale Peco turnouts are very reliable when properly installed (power routing, and isolating and changing "polarity" on the frog, even with insulfrogs).

Thank you for the info.  I am still debating now on whether to use Atlas code 55 or Peco code 55 throughout.  It's between those two.

You should be able to.  I have not worked with Atlas c55, but I have mated ME c55 with my Peco c55 with no problems.  As you are probably aware, the Peco c55 is actually c80 with the bottom part of the rail buried in the ties.  What I did was to cut off the bottom web of the Peco rail to make it closer to .055".  I filed the bottom as smooth as I could.  Then I slipped a rail joiner on that rail, and the ME c55 rail, soldered the two together, and filed the solder down to make a smooth joint.  Sometimes the different brands of track have different rail head widths.  That is why you would want to file the joint smooth.  Run a fingernail along the joint to make sure.  If your fingernail catches, so will your wheel flanges.  You wouldn't want that going into a turnout.  But this is really not that hard to do.  It just takes a little patience.

All:

I need to incorporate two double slip switches into my layout.  The layout was originally designed with Peco code 55 track in mind, but I have TONS of new Atlas code 55 track and switches and it seems a waste not to use it, (besides it is more prototypical for the USA).  My question is, since Atlas does not make a Code 55 N Scale double slip switch, can I incorporate a Peco Code 55 double slip switch in with the Atlas code 55 track??  What would I need to do to get it to fit?
