Glueshell and styrofoam??
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, October 13, 2004 5:27 PM
In the March 2004 edition of MR magazine, Ian Rice (Rocque Bluffs Part 6) explains how he uses a landscaping technicque he calls "glueshell" He soaks heavy duty paper towels in diluted white glue and builds up his landscape with these. He was working with cardboard strips (cereal boxes) as a foundation. Has anyone used this technicque with styrofoam? What would you have to do to get it to adhere to foam?

I have seen it done that way on a modular layout, and I'm planning on using that method on my layout. I like the idea of the brown paper towels covering the brightly colored foam. In my case pink, though blue is just as strange looking as an earth color. The shell is nice for smoothing out any "chunky" cuts in the foam.

The same white glue will work just fine.
