LION has never heard of uploading a layout to the internet. I suppose with these new 3D printers, anything is possible, but...

Wouldn't it be easier to make a .pdf of the layout and...

no wait, that was what your first question was all about anyway, wasn't it?

What .pdf tools are you using. Free tools usually will not help you, but LION has CUTE PDF PROFESSIONAL, it did not cost too much money. Him can open the .pdf file, and then click "Export as Picture" and it will come out as either a .jpg or a .tif. TIF is great if you are goint to print it on a printing press, but if you are going to post it on the internet then a .jpg is what is required.

LION does not know about using MS Paint, that is a raster graphics program, and depending on your version of windows will not support .jpg files which are vector graphics programs.

If I have not fully confused you yet, just say the word, buecuase I got much more of the same where that all came from.

Here's what I do:

  1. Print the plan to a .pdf format
  2. Open the .pdf and select and copy the entire document into Microsoft Paint
  3. Save and upload the Paint file (default type for MS Paint is.png, which is supported by the MR community photo gallery)

My apologies!

I must admit, I have never tried it.  When I first saw your question and checked on Photobucket, it seemed to indicate that you could upload a pdf file.  At least, it is implied in the Help section.

Can you scan or screen shot your layout and then upload as a jpg file?

You can upload it to a file sharing service like dropbox or google drive. Both of these or free up to 15 gigabytes and set the file to public or share with link. Then place a link in the post you want to share it in.

You could convert the pdf to another format, such a jpg.  If you don't already own a program that can do the conversion,  there is are  free programs that can.  One of them is GIMP.

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

Trying to upload new Layout
Posted by Regg05 on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 9:12 PM

I"m trying to upload my proposed layout that I have been working on.  However the layout is in pdf format and Flickr won't accept that for uploading.  Are there any other sites you guys you would recommend that would accept a PDF format type pic?
