oldline1I've looked for info on the Blue Point turnout controllers with little to show for it.
There are some additional comments on the Blue Points at this thread: http://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/11/p/203909/2230282.aspx#2230282
If you use the Search Community box to the right, use BluePoint without the space between the words and I believe that you will find some other forum references.
oldline1I've looked for info on the Blue Point turnout controllers with little to show for it. I've tried SEARCH and learned a lot about BLUE backdrop paint and other things I don't need to know about. SO...........what's the take on them? I've used the Tortoises and they are very reliable but I'd prefer manual controls. The cost of the Blue Points seems high by the time you add all the required extras to make them work so it isn't a cost saver the way I see it. What's the opinion out there? Thanks, Roger Huber
Roger,
They are a bit cheaper than Tortoises but as you say not much. And I found them very difficult to install due to the fact that I was routing the controls all to one panel. It can be tricky trying to snake the control rods around other obstacles under the layout. I eventually replaced all of mine with Tortoises.
