My local True Value hardware store carries brass tubing, along with music wire.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Just,Google,,K&S Engineering Inc and it will take you to their web-site...
I left the top tower in but cut it a little shorter (1/2" ) so I could compare them on the same board. I think now I am going to make one with all the same size towers. By the way, I love that movie.
My eye still likes the larger one but I believe in experimenting with all of the great ideas. I will put in a flick when it is alltogether.
Don't forget the the bases are not painted metal color. I don't know if that will make a difference but we will see.
I was also thinking. Is there a Brass tube 3/16"? Right now the towers are 1/8" Brass & 1/4" Wood
You are getting,,closer and closer, the new towers,as Mr, B,stated,''hits it''.. I'm still wondering though, why that tower near the top,has to be so large?
If you would like to take a break from it,learn some info and enjoy yourself at the same time..Hopefully,you have a DVD player,if you do,rent yourself a DVD,movie called, ''Where Eagles Dare'',Richard Burton,Clint Eastwood,, World War two setting, about a castle,in Bavaria,I believe that's right,, Many,Many, scenes, of cable gondola cars in action, from, towers to lift houses.... It may, inspire you to rearrange, some of your,idea's... Just My Thought!!
The lift tower with the 1/8 shaft hits it. As big as they are, the lift towers always are dwarfed by the scenery around them. They seem like spindly spider-webs, even though they weigh tons. Once the towers are appropriately scaled, they don't need forced perspective, and the whole thing with gondolas will work.
Well done, and, well, keep your tips up.
Well I hope this will be the last mock up. Here is what I have done. Several options on one Mock up.
1. Middle tower is now 1/8" Base and a smaller set of crossbars
2. Upper tower is 1/4" Base and I have decreased the height
I am sorry I have enclosed so many pics but it is hard to see. The viewing distance is 7'. I have gotten away from forced prespective because of the gondola in motion.
I am leaning toward the top tower. I think the middle to to hard to see in normal lighting. Some photos are taken with a flash.
Please give your thoughts.
