That's one reason I wasn't pushing the forced perspective thing much.
If you want to use forced perspective, I would build a second chairlift on the upper part of the mountain, completely in N-scale. But, it's very windy up there, so the chairlift is on wind hold and there are no skiers on it.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
I'm going to build a mock up tomorrow and we can take a look.

I am pretty sure,all of us,that are involved, in your project,,, have discussed,this before and came to a conclusion, that the whole lift,lift house,gondola,towers etc. Would look,very good in N-SCALE...

I just realized something. If let say I build the towers at the bottom using HO Scale and the towers at the top in N scale which would give me the forced prespective. Now picture the gondola ( HO Scale ) as it rises to the top. It will then be completely oversized as it reaches the N Scale area. Any ideas? Don't forget hopefully this will be a working ski lift.

Mr. B You really want to test my skills. The wood dowels in the Mock Up are 1/4" only about 20" in HO scale. I might try to go to a smaller diameter tower on the third tower as well as smaller in height. If I use the N scale skiers on the top part it may acheive what I am looking for.
In, 1965, I was on a,cable car,gondola,up and down,on the Mountain,called,The ''TITLUS'' in,Switzerland. From,1974 to 1977,used to go skiing a lot,,found out it was,not for me..So,it is not like, I just got off,the boat,,,so to speak....
Have you considered taking the gondolas all the way to the top, with a narrow "ridge run" coming down, or perhaps some reshaping of the rocks to allow a trail to come around one side of the mountain or the other?
The poles look better, but I still think you could go thinner. You would need to go with brass tubing to get the stiffness, but that will be easier to paint anyway. You'll want the towers to look like metal, not wood.

In the summer time, people ride the lifts in both directions. In the winter time gondolas will be used in both directions by people who will not be skiing down the hill, but are family members watching the skiers, or visitors who choose to visit the top of the mountain, perhaps have dinner up there a a lodge or something. Employees will also ride down in the gondolas.

I believe,you are missing what I am trying to say,,,why are the two center towers,so much taller than,the one by the lift house??
The last tower that is not in is lower so it can attach to the other end. I think I can lower the number three tower. I cant give it to much prospective as the figure will then lookoff, unless I put sone N scale figures at thre top.
That is starting to look,much better,than the other,,,as far as the towers,the taller of them,should be near the beginning,of the scene and the smaller,further away,from the beginning,of the scene..
I started a new tread as I was affaid you guys would not look at the old one.
Enclosed is the revised Mock up pictures for the lift. I will be using small gondolas with skis attatched to one side to give the idea of skier going one way. As the motor housing was to big I am going to see if I can use trees as I block. As my layout is not a winter scene the ski area is above tree line ( Mt Hood). I have drastically reduced the size of the towers an I am now considering reducing the height down to the size of the first one. I was thing about going to the N scale wheels but I need the hole to be 1/16". I was afraid that if I only used one side with a flat washer the cable will slide down away from the flange.
