That's a shame. I won't buy a rolling stock kit unless I can open up the box and look at the BLT date. The only exceptions to that are the Branchline kits (which usually have the dates printed on the front end of the box)...or if I already know what the BLT date of the model is.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
The last time I purchased a kit of any type at a hobby shop, they had taped all the boxes shut to keep people (thieves) from taking advantage of the 5-finger discount (stealing) parts and instructions out of the boxes. They are the second hobby shop I have encountered that have had to resort to this.
Yes. I lost the instructions to a Walthers Carfloat kit, which is retired. I e-mailed Walthers, and had a PDF of the instructions within an hour.
Another option is to post the manufacturer and kit name or model number here, and see if anyone has a copy they could send you.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
By all means, get in touch with the manufacturer! It could be the instructions are available on-line.

Why don't you just e-mail or call the N-scale manufacturer of the kit? If they're still in business, they should have access to assembly instructions to send to you. If not, someone here on the forum might also have the same kit and could scan the instructions for you.
I've never checked any of the kits I've bought ahead of time for assembly instructions; nor have I ever had a one lack them. Things happen. Contact the manufacturer...
