JoeyBowman I have been working with Woodland Scenic's Smooth-It for a while now, it is taking me some time to get the hang of using it but I believe I am getting there. However, I have run into one issue. On a section of a parking lot that I am working on part of the Smooth-it dried as normal (usually takes 24 hours) though a small portion of it has yet to dry fully (has been about 28 hours since I applied it). I find it odd that half of the batch dried normally and the other half hasn't yet. Has anyone run into this issue as well?

Well at least the very long drying time allows you to shape and finish the area. Like many other premixed water based products, the amount/ depth of the application affects the drying. At least w/ the Smooth-it, the product doesn't crack like using things like drywall mud. I still prefer plaster, but you have very little working time. Durham's water putty is a favorite of many, it allows a bit more working time quite similar to another fav of mine Durabond 90. If you continue to have any issues or want a more durable (harder) finish and also save a bundle try some of them.
Same goes for the WS Realistic Water, I found serious drying issues if poured deeper than 1/8". The water surface never ends up that durable and remains a soft plastic like finish, Anything set on the surface will leave a dent that is hard to remove w/o pouring another layer. Gloss medium or Enviortex lite just seem to work better for me.

That's good news, glad to hear it.
I am having similar problems with Woodland Scenics Realistic Water, waiting for it to turn from cloudy to clear. Unfortunately, I have been waiting considerably longer, and it is in a spot a little deeper than the rest of the river bed.

Hey Rich, thanks for the response, you were correct. The area in question did finally dry in full (about 36 hours after pouring). It may have been a tad bit deeper in this spot that in other spots when poured though I would not have guessed it would have taken so long. There seems to be a big learning curve when working with this stuff (at least for me) though im finally beginning to get the hang of using it!
I suspect that by time you respond to this issue, the Smooth-It will have dried for you.
If not, tell us more about your issue.
Was the entire parking lot poured at the same time from a single mix? Is it all the same depth?
