making wood look like concrete

I have a coaling tower that I have made out of wood and I want it to look like it is made out of concrete how would I do this? (I am in HO scale) thanks

Use a piece of scrap from the build process, sand it smooth with a very fine grit paper. Use a weathered concreate paint (floquil) See how it looks.

The wood should be sealed with some "sanding sealer" or ?? then Polly S aged concrete would be a good undercoat, but dark charcol or powders are needed to weather everythong in the engine service area. Good luck!
