Making Furnace Filter trees

Bob Thanks for your input.  Did this video due to the fact I could not find one out there that really covered furnace Filter Trees online.I did this just to show others how it could be done...I have several other "HowTo" videos online..

 

I really won't use that many deciduous trees on my layout. I will use a mixture of bottle brush and  furnace filter trees.

The conifer tree video is excellent, but for making hundreds of trees, this method is too slow. For smaller trees I used bulk stained double-ended olive skewers. For close up deciduous trees I prefer to use Scenic Express Super Trees If one tips the box of Super Trees, upside down, the brittle trunks are laid out radially and can be removed easily. I prefer to wet the trimmed armatures with Matte Medium. It makes them less brittle. I spray the armature with adheive while holding it over the box of unfinished trees. There's less waste of adhesive spray. I then use my fingers to sprinkle of the Blended medium foam turf. I change decicuous trees on my layout, to match the color of the season. For conifer trees on a narrow ridge, I layer zig-zag strips of varied colored green sheets of packing sponge, as shown in the photo. Bob Hahn

I have to make a lot of trees for the layout. The bottle brush tree were Ok but I like the taller trees a little better. Here is my latest attempt. Hope the video helps others. http://youtu.be/ClCwvzT2VG4 Ty
