I've seen many use a thin strip of styrene to shim the inside of the frogs on Peco turnouts.

I handlay my own & have used Atlas C55 turnouts, which have different issues ;)

Also make sure your wheels are in gauge.

n scale peco code 55 turnout problem
Posted by west willow and laurel on Friday, January 6, 2012 4:11 PM

Hi:

I have Peco n scale code 55 turnouts on my layout (mainly #4 & #6) and am experiencing a problem I wonder If others also have.

The problem Is, when locomotives and freight cars pass over the frog, wheels drop into the gap causing a "wobble effect." I've tried different wheels (currently using mico trains low profile and BLMA low profile) with the same results.

Do others have this problem and have they fixed It? Has anybody else had the same problem with any other manufacturers turnouts?
