Wiring a turnout for DCC is no different than for block DC -- insulate both rails that diverge away from the frog, because the frog changes polarity as the turnout is thrown from one position to the other. You'll then need to add feeder wires to the tracks beyond the frog.

Nothing wrong with using those turnouts if you insulate the frog.

This is one way, it is a very conservative and safe approach - some would say over kill - I would rather play it safe that blow some hard to replace electronics.

Have a look around in recent (the past week) topics. I'm pretty sure that there was a discussion of this very brand, and what to do in order to insulate the frog. I'm sure it's doable if you are handy at surgery on turnouts.

Turnouts For DCC

I am building a new layout and I am going with DCC. I saved as much as I could from my last layout including numerouse Shinohara turnouts. I have read conflicting articles on the use of "non DCC frindley turnouts". My question is can I use these turnout. I would like to hear from some folks that have used the older noninsulated frog turnouts.Any feed back would be appriciated.
