I have a question for everybody. I'm making trees from dried plants from the yard. My question is what would be a better adhesive for attaching more branches? I Can't use white glue because without a jig, it is a huge pain to hold branches in place. Not to mention pretty brittle. I tried cyanoacrylate, but it's not drying very fast. Any help would be appreciated, thank-you.

There are several ways to turn out hundreds of homemade trees. The green trees in the photo are made of stained wooden olive skewers for trunks. I cut circles from green painted furnace filters, that I then push onto the skewers. Buy several bottles of WS Blended Turf. Spray the attached furnace filters with spray adhesive and then sprinkle on the Blended Turf (into a box to gather non sticking Turf. In the right side of the photo is a branch of Super Trees that are used as Winter leafless trees, or sprayed with adhesive and then sprinkle of Blended Turf.(or Fall colored Turf. From a $25 box of Super Trees from my local hobby shop, I produced abut 60 very realistic close-up trees. One can also use dried weeds from the garden. Soak weeds or Super Trees in Matte medium to make them less brittle.You cut sisal rope in 1/8"-1/2" lengths, Spray adhesive in the dried weeds and sprinkle on the short sisal strands. Then, respray with adhesive and sprinkle on WS Blended Turf. This produces very realistic trees. To apply a conifer canopy to the top of a narrow ridge, I cut black packing sponge (or screen wire),into thin sheets, that I then cut in zig-zag pattern and spray with varied shades of green. These are glued together in layered fashion to form a very narrow canopy of conifers, with good forced perspective. One can purchase (or make), varied size conifers fairly inexpensively in groups of 60 trees, as shown in the last photo. Click,to enlarge.

Thick CA and spray accelerant. I like Rocklers Woodworking brand. With the spray, it dries instantly.

I use Hairspray to hold leaves on the branches.

Branches can be afixed quickly with a low temp hot glue.

Aleenes Tacky Glue or similar will hold the branches.  I sometimes use rubber bands or clothes pins to hold things together until they set.

CA's are not all created equal.  Use the gel-type or "gap filling" version, with or without an accelerant.

Hot glue, as suggested above, works as well.

I use Tacky Glue to attach poly-fiber to the armature, then dilute matte medium to attach the foliage.
