As noted earlier what do you want your backdrop to be. One solution is to take your own pictures and have it printed. The cost is usually about 7 to 8 bucks a square foot on vinyl that an be placed on several different surfaces.

As "hon30critter" stated backdropwarehouse.com is hard to figure out their website and expensive. I found a place in Canada called "Sceniking" they have some good stuff but only deal in Paypal of which i'm not fond of. I'm trying a place this week that i found called "realisticbackgrounds.com". They had what i'm looking for at a good price,so I'll see what happens.

Have you concidered painting your own? A simple blue sky background can add a lot to a layout and is easy to do. There are a number of videos and books on painting your own. I'm about to take that step myself. I plan blue sky faded to lighter just above the horizon. Will try a few clouds. Have seen how to do simple background hills and trees, doesn't look hard, but I plan to pratice that part first. For city or other complex scenes, if your skills are like mine, there are a number of manufacturers listed in the Walthers catalog.

I did a quick search for 'model railroad backdrops' and got several hits. These guys are one of the bigger companies specializing in backdrops. Their site is a little complicated ( read PITA!). From the main page select 'Model RR'. Then select 'INDEX' and scroll down to 'PRODUCTS' to see what they have. If you see something that interests you then you can go back to the index and look through the many options and suggestions they offer.

I need a backdrop that is 72" long. Does anyone make them this big. If not, what do you do. Put two of the same side by side?
