Are Atlas & Kato SD40 Shells compatible?

Hell all,
I was wondering if Kato and Atlas SD40 shells are compatible? I have a chance to purchase a Kato SD40 Burlington shell, but want to put it on ATLAS loco that I already have DCC installed on.
Is it that simple, meaning just to pull one off and replace it with the other?
Thanks for your help.

Which scale are you referring to?
In HO scale, Atlas has never offered an SD40, and they have not offered a locomotive with a chassis that would fit an SD40. They closest are the SD24 and SD35, both much shorter than a SD40.
I don't know about other scales.
